Best Cambodia Khmer Comfort Food. Authentic flavor. Having been to Cambodia with church for mission trips 5 times, the flavor was just as I remember. Phnom Penh Noodles was amazing. Koh Ruessei Restaurant@Long Beach ★★★

Authentic Flavorful Khmer (Cambodian) Cuisine. Better and more decent than the one I used to go. Having been to Cambodia 5 times, I always crave for their food. My favorite is Prahok - raw vegetables served in warm dipping sauce. This restaurant did very well. the Phnom Penh Noodle Soup had a garlicky flavor, just like the one I had at the street food in Phnom Penh. The restaurant highly recommended the Hot & Sour Beef Soup. I am used to the flavor, but it's not for everyone. A little of the soup goes a long way. Better to have a small bowl of rice and only 1-2 tablespoons of the soup. They automatically give you a big bowl of rice and will charge $3 for it. Will come back again.

Prahok Fish $14.95

Phnom Penh Noodle Soup $9.95

Hot & Sour Beef Soup $15.95

Cha Traop Dot Recipe ★★★

Cambodian Stir-Fry Eggplant with Pork. One of my favorite Cambodian dishes. Amazing. Great with rice.

Recipe Source: Food.com
Ingredients:
3 large Eggplants
2 Tablespoons to 1/4 cup Vegetable Oil
5 Garlic Cloves (smashed and coarsely chopped)
3/4 lb. Ground Pork
3/4 lb. Shrimp (shelled, deveined, and chopped) (optional)
1/4 cup Fish Sauce
1-1/2 Tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon pepper (freshly ground)
3 Spring Onions (thinly sliced)

1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Prick eggplants with a fork, then put on baking sheet and bake for 45 minutes (or until soft). Allow to cool slightly, then peel and discard the skins (optional). Mash the flesh with a fork until smooth. Set aside.
3. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the garlic until golden (about 10 seconds). Stir in the pork and shrimp, breaking up any clumps.
3. Add the fish sauce, sugar and ground pepper.
4. When well mixed, add the eggplant and continue stir-frying until warmed through (about 3 minutes).
5. Add the spring onions, stir well, and remove from heat and serve over rice.
