Mother Tongue@West Hollywood ★★★

Fantastic Innovative Restaurant by Michelin Star Chef Michael Mina. Grand opening. Loved everything to its perfection. Tartare was on the salty side, but the saltiness was excellent with flatbread and Deep Space cocktail. Extra flatbread $4. Lobster was served on top of a bed of toasted noodles. Amazing hand-crafted cocktails. Deep Space was like Old Fashion with coffee. Other cocktails were more fruity. Matcha Soft Serve Sundae was creamy and flavorful. Excellent service. Corkage fee is $35. It's inside HEIMAT, a new private gym concept, but membership is not required for dining. Members do get 10% off from the restaurant. $5 Valet or street parking.

Gozen@West Hollywood ★★★

Exquisite Omakase Course. Previously Raku. Grand opening night with discount. Preceded by an impressive tour of the restaurant artwork, showcasing 200 year-old-artwork from Japan. Staffs with face masks and face shields on. Greeted with welcome sake drink after the tour. The kaiseki-style omakase course was amazing. Their menu is seasonal. The meal was very enjoyable with their recommended iced green tea plum wine, which tasted like green tea ice cream. Some plates were 200 years old with detailed artwork. Dessert included in the course. I recommend their House-Made Blancmange with Persimmon Purée. Light and fluffy. Dinner ended with a small surprise gift. Omakase course only, ranges from $100-$300.

Raku Togo@West Hollywood ★★★

Satisfying Japanese Bento Box. I like the Crab Roll better than the Salmon. Salmon sashimi in the Salmon Bowl was fresh and fatty. Full menu available here. We paired it with Mango Moscato.

Raku's Bento Box $38

Robata Jinya@West Hollywood ★★★

Less Expensive Robata w/ Great Quality. Portions are good. Really nice Ramen with thin noodles. Love the Lotus Root Robata. Eggplant Robata had a flavorful taste of soup in it. I like to dip the Robata with the Cilantro Sauce the most. Nice service. Free parking at meters after 8pm.
