Ichimi Ann@Torrance ★★★

Homemade Udon & Soba from Inaba. Fresh & Amazing. Affordable Japanese comfort fast food. I basically came up with a secret menu with their add-ons based on a limited edition soba I had in Ikebukuro in 2008. Cold Tororo Soba with Mentai and Onsen Tamago add-ons (served on the side). Their Tempura are tasty with sauce already integrated. Total bill for the 2 meals below was $40.70. Fast food self-seating with self-served iced tea and water. Return tray by the cashier when done. Free street parking.

Cold Tororo Soba with Mentai & Onsen Tamago add on (served on the side) - about $20

Cheng Can Cook: Black Garlic Tokotsu Noodles ★

Cheng Can Cook: 出前一丁 Black Garlic Oil Tonkotsu Flavor Instant Noodles. I upgraded it with Wagyu Beef, Mushroom, Onion, Fried Bean Curd, Crisp Lettuce, & Scallions. The garlic flavor is nice but not worth the hype.

Súp Noodle Bar@Buena Park ★★★

Best Pho Ever. Have been coming to Súp since before the pandemic but have only been ordering togo after the pandemic. Dining in here for the first time since a while ago, it blew my mind. It's hands down the best Pho ever. Soup base is a 48-hour bone broth. Very tasty. Free unlimited noodle refill. Free basil and extra onion upon request. Also like their Lomo Saltado and Garlic Noodles with Shrimp. Free Herbal Iced Tea per Yelp check-in per person (dine-in only), which is $4 value. Great service. Free parking in lot. Also has branch in Irvine (relocated from Cerritos).

Tanakaya@Tustin ★

Japanese Noodles Restaurant with long wait in Tustin. For a Saturday lunch, there was an hour wait to get seated. Food took about 30 minutes to come out. Soba Sampler was nice but not worth the long wait. Ume Shiso had the strongest flavor. Their food tend to be salty, so don't pour all the dipping sauce into the cup. The tempura was great too.

Cold Soba Sampler $14.95

Soy Sauce Chow Mein
Ingredients:
Dry Noodles for 2 people (I used Taiwanese)
120 g Bean Sprouts (I used napa, lettuce, and mushroom instead – sliced)
1/2 Onion
Ginger – Sliced (I used ginger powder instead)
1 Spring Onion – Sliced
Sesame Seeds for garnish

Sauce: (can premix or add on the spot)
1 Tablespoon Soy Sauce
2.5 teaspoons Dark Soy Sauce
1.5 teaspoons Raw Sugar (I used regular sugar)
2 teaspoons Oyster Sauce
A drizzle of Sesame Oil

Directions
1. Follow package directions to cook dry noodles and drain. (Tip: Don't cook for too long, or else it will be soggy)
2. Add oil to wok (or large frying pan). Cook ginger, spring onions, and onions until soft. Add vegetables. Set vegetables aside and add drained noodles. Add sauce in circular motion and stir for even tone. Taste.
3. Garnish with sesame seeds.

Oxtail Soup
Ingredients:
1 lb. Oxtail
3-4 Medium Tomatoes – Roughly Diced
1 Large Potato, peeled – Roughly Diced
1/2 Onion – Roughly Sliced
Celery – optional
A lot of water

Directions
1. Boil water in a pot. Cook oxtail for 1-2 minutes. Discard water.
2. In a larger pot, fill pot with a lot of water and bring to boil. Add everything into the pot of water and simmer for 1 hour.
3. Soup is ready to serve.

Mishima is Famous for their Udon/ Noodles. Tip: The Sushi Combo comes with half portion of noodles - you can choose inaniwa noodles. It's the best and most expensive noodles - smooth and soft. Only thing is that the Spicy Scallop Hand Roll is a disappointment to me, because it's made with cooked Scallop.
