sawa Spring Sake Night@Little Tokyo ★★★

4th Amazing Omakase Sake Pairing Event by Fifth Taste. We went to all 4 of them. Fun event with premium sake pairing. Special collaboration event presented by Shota-san from Fifth Taste with various sake pairing from KID, Kuheiji, Ohmine, Sharaku, Nabeshima, and Noguchi. Sushi Chef Ryo-san is great. Natalia the bartender is amazing. Omakase $185 + $150 for sake pairing at event. Great deal for premium sake. Parking structure $6 or metered street parking.

My Sake Tasting Notes:
1. KID Spring Breeze – kombu nose, fruity lychee flavor, refreshing
2. Rose KID – made from red rice, not much nose, cherry medicine flavor with strawberry finish
3. 九平次 Kuheiji Tako – Carbonated with Champagne cork, refreshing, umami, floral perfume, and mango nose, pure, thick, & high acid finish
4. Ohmine 2 Grain – diluted, fruity, lychee nose, melon finish
5. Nabeshima Love Mountain – fragrance flavor, pure finish
6. Noguchi Naohiko Junmai Daiginjo Muroka Nama Genshu
7. Sharaku

Sake Tasting@Xi'an Beverly Hills ★★★

Amazing Free Sake Tasting Presented by Xi'an Beverly Hills & Shota-san from Fifth Taste. A presentation of 13 premium sake. I got to try all 13 of them. Some of my favorites are Akabu, Heiwa, and Ohmine. Xi'an has been around since 1996. Their Salt & Pepper Fries and Garlic Noodles are tasty. Cece, Manager at Xi'an, is very welcoming, generous, hospitable, and hardworking.
